CoLex Legal Professional Corporation is a small Ontario firm that describes itself as an association of two lawyers, with offices in three cities: London, Cambridge, and Ottawa. The practice covers real estate, business and corporate law, immigration, wills and estates, and dispute resolution, and each office also offers notary public services. The two lawyers come from different sides of the practice. The firm's managing counsel is licensed to practise in both Ontario and Nigeria, and works across risk management, regulatory compliance, estate administration, real estate, and business law, along with securities, capital market, and international trade and investment matters. That lawyer has also reviewed more than 100 bilateral investment and trade agreements (BITs) for UNCTAD, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The other lawyer handles real estate, immigration, and business advisory work, with more than ten years of practice spanning contract negotiation, privacy and financial regulations, and anti-money laundering compliance. That range shows up in the day to day work: residential and commercial real estate closings, incorporations and contracts, immigration applications, and estate planning such as wills and powers of attorney. A legal assistant rounds out the team and supports the immigration and family files.
