Ted Stayshyn's father, Justice Walter Stayshyn, founded the Hamilton firm Borkovich and Stayshyn in 1964, then spent more than three decades on the bench before retiring from the Superior Court of Justice in 2009 and joining Stayshyn Law Offices as office administrator and mentor until Walter Stayshyn's death in 2021. Retired counsel Gary Logan, a Queen's Counsel called to the bar with Honours in 1966, and lawyer Adrian Nurse, who joined in 2012, round out the team. Ted Stayshyn worked on the Walkerton class action over a town's contaminated water supply, settled for more than fifty million dollars on behalf of over two thousand claimants.
