Michael Kril-Mascarin, who formed MAK Family Law LLP, previously practiced commercial litigation and insolvency law at a full-service Toronto firm. Michael's family law practice concentrates on cases with complex financial and property issues, and Michael also keeps up a general commercial litigation practice focused on debtor and creditor and insolvency matters, an overlap that comes up in family law files as well. Michael appears in Ontario courts at every level, including matters before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mary Anne Kril, the firm's namesake, spent 17 years with O'Connor Macleod Hanna, beginning in commercial litigation in Toronto before moving into family law, then opened a family law practice in Oakville in 2009. In May 2019 the Government of Canada appointed Kril a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, and Michael Kril-Mascarin now practices family law from the Oakville office.
