Laura E. Oliver, Barrister Professional Corporation practiced family law from an office on Lakeshore Road East in downtown Oakville. Laura Oliver opened the practice in 2000 and worked exclusively in family law from that point on, appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Rather than framing the firm as a courtroom-first litigator, its own site described an approach built around helping each client work out a plan that suited their situation.

The practice offered several routes to resolve a family law matter besides a trial, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and a structured early neutral evaluation, alongside full representation. Laura Oliver completed Certified Divorce Specialist training in communication methods for people going through separation and divorce. As of September 1, 2023, the practice merged with Ruso & Associates, and its Oakville office now operates under that name.
