About Gage Family Law

Gage Family Law is a small family law and estates firm in Oakville, Ontario, operating under the corporate name Marian Gage Professional Corporation. Founder Marian Gage began practicing family law in Toronto in 2003, initially appearing in court almost daily on behalf of clients. In 2010, the practice moved away from courtroom litigation toward mediation and collaborative family law, an approach the firm says usually produces a more workable outcome than a trial. Marian Gage is a Certified Specialist in Family Law, an Accredited Family Mediator and an Accredited Intergenerational Mediator, and serves as panel counsel for the Office of the Children's Lawyer.

The firm's team of five lawyers and mediators brings varied backgrounds together: one trained at Harvard Law School and was called to the bar in New York in 2004 before Ontario in 2018, another built a law degree from the London School of Economics into licences in both England and Ontario, and a third practiced family law in Nigeria before being called to the Ontario bar in 2013. Alongside mediation, collaborative process and family litigation, the firm handles wills, powers of attorney and estate administration, and it offers lower cost options such as unbundled retainers, family law coaching and virtual law clerk support for people representing themselves.
