About Cedar Group

Cedar Group is a small advisory firm in Oakville that brings tax, legal, and valuation work together under one roof. Formally known as The Cedar Consulting Group Inc., it's built around four principals: Sunny Jaggi handles Canadian tax, Hasan Naqvi leads the legal practice, Vabby Makkar runs business valuations, and Sandy Saini covers US and cross-border tax. The firm says it was built to fix a coordination problem business owners often run into elsewhere, where separate tax, legal, and valuation advisors lose context at every handoff. At Cedar Group those three disciplines work from the same table instead of in sequence.

Hasan Naqvi was called to the Ontario bar in 2012 after earning an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, and was a partner at Blaney McMurtry LLP in Toronto before co-founding Cedar Group. Sunny Jaggi holds a Master of Taxation from the University of Waterloo, and Vabby Makkar pairs a CPA and CBV designation with a real estate broker's licence to handle both the valuation and the sale of a business. Cedar Group doesn't prepare tax returns, financial statements, or bookkeeping. It works on advisory files such as corporate reorganizations, estate freezes, and CRA disputes, and offers a free 15 minute call before any engagement begins.
