About Marks & Pellegrino Law Professional Corporation

Marks & Pellegrino Law Professional Corporation is based in Whitby, Ontario, formed in 2024 when Marks & Marks, Barristers and Solicitors, joined with Pellegrino Law Professional Corporation. Marks & Marks traces back to 1946, when Ernest Marks Jr., Q.C., founded the firm after returning from service in the Second World War. The family's roots in Oshawa run deeper still: Ernest Marks Sr. built the Marks Theatre in Oshawa in the 1920s and served as the city's mayor in 1931. Pellegrino Law Professional Corporation was established separately in 2014, after Steven Pellegrino articled with Laskowsky & Laskowsky.

The combined firm now handles real estate transactions, wills and estates, corporate law, and notary services from its Whitby office. Bradley Marks studied law at the National University of Ireland before returning to Durham Region to join Ted Marks, Bradley's father and the firm's second-generation lawyer, at Marks & Marks. Steven Pellegrino studied criminology, sociology, and history at the University of Toronto's St. Michael's College, then read law at the University of Oxford, where Pellegrino became an Oxford Blue in powerlifting, before opening Pellegrino Law Professional Corporation in 2014. Both lawyers are members in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario and the Durham Region Law Association.
