McMurtry Law PC is a small family law and civil litigation firm run by Paula R. McMurtry out of Port Perry, Ontario, in Durham Region. Paula holds a B.A. (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University (1997) and an LL.B. from the University of Windsor (2001), with a call to the Ontario bar in 2002. After practising with one of Durham Region's largest law firms, Paula opened an independent practice in Port Perry in 2010, and the firm now serves clients across Port Perry, Uxbridge, Sunderland, Cannington, Blackstock, Brooklin, Oshawa, Whitby, Clarington, Pickering and Ajax, along with the Lindsay, Peterborough and Newmarket areas.

The practice covers two main areas. On the family law side, Paula is a Level II Collaborative Family Law Lawyer, working through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and collaborative practice as well as court, and handling separation, cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts. On the civil side, the firm takes on breach of contract claims, property and road access disputes, wrongful dismissal, slip and fall, and other general litigation matters. Paula has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Ministry of the Attorney General appointed Paula a Dispute Resolution Officer at the Oshawa courthouse, a role that gives family litigants an early case evaluation to help narrow or settle disputed issues.
