Business & Corporate LawW.C. Richard Davidson received his early education in the Lethbridge public school system. He earned a B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Alberta and joined the family firm in 1968 to begin his articles. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1969 and appointed King's Counsel in 1986, and he continues to practice at Davidson & Williams on a reduced schedule. He is a member of the Lethbridge Bar Association and received a Distinguished Service Award from the Law Society of Alberta in 2000. He has served as president, chairman or board member of organizations including the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce, the Kidney Foundation and the City of Lethbridge, and received a life membership from the Kinsmen Club. He served on the University of Lethbridge Senate from 1983 to 1991, was its Chancellor from 2007 to 2011, and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the university in 2012.
