Timothy S. McCann was born and raised in Pembroke, Ontario. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University in 1990 and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University in 1994, and was called to the bar in 1998. He joined his father Terry McCann's law firm, McCann and Sheppard, before opening his own practice, Timothy S. McCann Lawyer, in 2011. McCann also serves on the boards of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation and Bernadette McCann House, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and has taught Business Law and Estate Planning as a part-time professor at Algonquin College's Pembroke campus. As of early 2026 he began transitioning into retirement, closing his Pembroke Street East office and moving his remaining wills and estate files to OV Law, while no longer taking on new real estate matters.
