He has been recognized with the City of Ottawa Community Activist of the Year Award (2007) and has served as past chair of the Nepean Chamber of Commerce, Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Olde Forge Community Resource Centre, and as a director of the Ottawa Rotary Home.
