About Michael

Michael E. Reed practiced law in Barrie for more than fifty years before retiring, after being called to the bar in 1972. His practice centered on residential real estate, covering new home purchases, condominiums, resales, and refinancing, along with commercial real estate and leasing work. He also handled wills, powers of attorney, and estate planning, including Henson Trusts for disabled beneficiaries. On the corporate side, Michael advised roughly 400 companies in Simcoe County, among them some of the region's largest private and farming businesses, on acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, and share and asset transactions. He earned a Master of Laws in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School and conducted numerous mediations to help resolve commercial disputes. Michael was active in the Barrie community through groups such as Simcoe Community Services and local youth baseball organizations.
