About Megan

Megan Ross is the founder of Ross Estate Law, a boutique estate planning and probate practice in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She was called to the Bar in Alberta in 2010, with Justice Papperny of the Alberta Court of Appeal presiding, and later trained in estate law under the mentorship of Dr. Palmer of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP in Calgary. Ross holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Victoria (2004), a JD from the University of Calgary (2009), an LLM from New York University (2013), and an SJD from the University of Toronto, where her research focused on the legal history of women at the League of Nations. She has worked in both large and boutique firms, served as a consultant for the United Nations and UN Women, and taught as an adjunct professor of human rights, gender and law at the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University. Ross's practice today focuses on estate planning, executor and probate services, and group estate planning workshops for workplaces, unions and non-profits. She also holds volunteer roles with the Canadian Bar Association's Nova Scotia Branch, including as Vice-Chair of its Wills, Estates & Trusts Section.
