About Meena

Meena Deccan is the founder of Deccan Law Practice in Edmonton. She grew up in Saskatchewan, earned a Bachelor of Commerce in marketing and finance from the University of Saskatchewan, and worked for three years at IBM Canada before pursuing law. She holds an LLB/JD in common law from the University of Saskatchewan and an LLM in law and technology from the University of Ottawa, and she practised law in British Columbia before establishing her Edmonton practice. Her work centers on estate planning in a broad sense, helping clients structure their affairs, protect assets, and plan for the transfer of an estate to their heirs, with an emphasis on documentation that helps prevent future disputes. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, founded the Canadian Women Lawyers network, has judged MENSA Foundation scholarships, and belongs to Rotary International.
