About Line

Line Abecassis practises across most areas of real property law and related commercial matters, handling the leasing, acquisition, divestiture and financing of real estate and development projects such as hotels, seniors' residences, shopping centres and office buildings. She has particular depth in commercial leasing for industrial, office, retail and mixed-use properties. Line manages BLG's Specialized Business Law Group in Montreal, which covers real estate, tax, financial services and intellectual property. Her work has included a portfolio acquisition of 75 properties across Canada and the U.S. valued at more than $1.5 billion, advising BMO Life Insurance on shopping centre acquisitions in Quebec and Ontario, and serving as external Quebec real estate counsel to McDonald's Restaurants of Canada and as counsel managing Bell Canada's real estate portfolio. She is fluent in French, English, Hebrew and Arabic.
