About Julian

Julian van der Walle is a criminal defence lawyer practicing exclusively in Vernon, BC, representing clients facing impaired driving, drug offences, assault, firearms offences, computer crime, and other Criminal Code charges at the Vernon Law Courts and throughout the North Okanagan. He also handles criminal appeals at the BC Court of Appeal and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. Van der Walle graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2009 and was called to the bar in Kamloops, BC in May 2010, articling beforehand for senior defence counsel Peter Jensen of Kamloops. He has conducted over one hundred trials at both levels of trial court in BC and Alberta and has argued summary conviction appeals as well as appeals in the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a leading member of the criminal defence branch of the Trial Lawyers' Association of British Columbia, has lectured on the law of search and seizure, and writes a monthly case law review for the association's criminal defence members.
