She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Information and Communications with a minor in Sociology and a Bachelor of Laws, both from the University of Moncton, and completed Public Leadership training and a Negotiation Certification at Harvard University. She was president of the New Brunswick Canadian Bar Association's Continuing Professional Development Committee from 2012 to 2023 and served ten years on the council of the Law Society of New Brunswick.
