About Jennifer

Jennifer Budgell is a criminal defence lawyer who has represented clients in Ontario and the Yukon for more than two decades. She has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2002 and ran a criminal defence practice in Toronto for over 20 years before beginning to represent clients in the Yukon Territory in 2016. Jennifer obtained her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from McGill University in 2001. She regularly appears in the Yukon's Territorial and Supreme Courts, defending clients charged with offences including murder, drug and firearm charges, sexual assault, and impaired driving, and has experience arguing breaches of clients' rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and Women in Canadian Criminal Defence.
