Criminal DefenceJean-Francois Benoit practices criminal law in Gatineau, having joined the team at CGS Avocats. He is a graduate of the Universite de Sherbrooke Faculty of Law and completed the Barreau du Quebec's intensive bar school program in Ottawa. Jean-Francois Benoit represents clients facing a range of criminal charges, including impaired driving, assault, sexual offences, drug offences and property offences, and has developed particular experience challenging the legality of police actions such as arrests, detentions and searches. He is a past president of the Centre d'intervention en abus sexuels pour la famille (CIASF) and collaborates with the University of Ottawa's pro bono and moot court programs. He also takes part in training sessions for future police officers at La Cite collegiale and hosts clinical placement students to introduce them to defence practice.
