About Afzal

Afzal Shah joined Safi Law Group in the spring of 2022. Before joining the firm he maintained a general practice in Saskatchewan, gaining experience in wills and estates, civil litigation, criminal law, and personal injury, and he articled at a top-rated criminal defence firm in southern Ontario after obtaining his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He is licensed to practise in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, and focuses on general civil litigation and estate litigation, with a particular interest in insurance claim litigation. He has represented clients in contested probate and trust matters, including will contests and breach of fiduciary duty claims, and his elder law practice covers guardianship, trusteeship, and elder abuse matters.
