Bartlett Storey Law is a Nanaimo firm made up of two associated law corporations working as one practice under the Bartlett Storey Law name. Its lawyers describe their work as covering real estate, family law, criminal defence, corporate and commercial law, litigation, and wills and estates, for clients across Vancouver Island and British Columbia.

Sanford M. Bartlett founded the practice, originally as Bartlett and Company Law Corporation, and was called to the BC bar in 1986. Bartlett has since argued cases at every level of court in Canada, up to the Supreme Court, and the firm points to that range when a single file crosses family, trust, corporate, and real estate law. Co-founder Richard L. Storey took an unusual route into law. After a Cambridge law degree and a joint MBA delivered through the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Chulalongkorn University's Sasin School, Storey spent twelve years trading financial derivatives at Refco Group and Man Financial before serving as Crown Counsel and moving into private practice. Associate Thomas M. Hawthornthwaite joined the firm in 2015, articled there in 2022, and was called to the bar in 2023 after completing a joint Juris Doctor and Juris Indigenarum Doctor at the University of Victoria, among that program's first graduating class.

The Nanaimo office isn't currently taking on new family law files involving child custody, child support, or other child related matters.
