About Coast Legal

Coast Legal is a criminal defence and regulatory law firm based in downtown Vancouver, representing individuals and corporations across British Columbia and the Yukon. Founder Garen Arnet-Zargarian set up the practice after six years at another criminal defence firm, working on cases at the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal. The firm handles criminal charges at every stage, from advice while a client is still under investigation through trial, sentencing, and appeal, and it also takes on driving prohibitions and professional discipline cases for people facing action from a professional regulator.

Arnet-Zargarian earned a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Law in 2016, graduating as the class valedictorian, and holds a Bachelor of Science, Honours, from Queen's University, earned in 2012. Before law, Arnet-Zargarian worked as a commercial salmon fisherman and a pest control technician and played competitive hockey and football, a background the firm says shaped a measured, strategic approach to defence work. Arnet-Zargarian also serves as a director of the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society and belongs to the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers and the Canadian Bar Association of B.C. Billing isn't one size fits all either: the firm offers both hourly rates and flat fees, depending on what a case calls for.
