About Chantler & Company

Chantler & Company is a civil litigation firm based in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Neil Chantler founded the firm in 2014, and it has since represented individuals, businesses, strata corporations, non-profit organizations, societies, and First Nations in disputes spanning civil litigation, employment law, business and commercial law, administrative law, and public interest litigation. The public interest practice includes advocacy for victims of police misconduct, survivors of sexual assault, members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, unhoused persons, and First Nations, along with matters before the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner.

Neil Chantler was called to the Bar of BC in 2007, after earning a Bachelor of Laws from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Victoria. Chantler has served as counsel in several public inquiries, including the Frank Paul Inquiry, the Missing Women Commission of Inquiry, and the Foreign Interference Commission in Ottawa. In 2019 the firm moved to The Landing, a heritage building at the edge of Gastown, and in 2024 it co-founded Gastown Litigation Counsel, a shared litigation practice with Scouten & Rogers based at the same address.
