Abolaw, which also brands itself Abogado Canada, is a small international law firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a direct office in Mexico City. Founder and managing partner Andres Abogado, whose surname is Spanish for lawyer, built the firm to practice Canadian and Mexican law directly rather than referring cross border matters to outside counsel. The team focuses on corporate and business law, immigration for Mexican nationals moving to Canada, notary services, mining legal facilitation across Latin America, and international criminal defense work tied to extradition and Interpol cases.

Andres Abogado holds an LLB in Mexican law, a Canadian Juris Doctor equivalent recognized by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and an LLM in international law from the University of British Columbia, and serves as external counsel to the Mexican Consulate in Vancouver. Senior counsel Jose Villasenor brings more than 30 years handling infrastructure, energy and administrative matters in Mexico, while counsel Constanza Abogado draws on 35 years in Mexican government and legal roles, including work in Guanajuato's state government. The firm says client funds are held in audited Canadian trust accounts, a protection it says unregulated Mexican practitioners can't offer.
