About Allied Law

Allied Law is a solo criminal defence and immigration law firm based in Surrey, British Columbia. It's run by lawyer Affan Bajwa, who serves clients across the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Langley, Abbotsford, and North Vancouver. Criminal cases run from first appearances through bail hearings, sentencing, and trial on charges under the Criminal Code. On the immigration side, the firm takes on refugee protection claims, detention reviews, admissibility hearings, and appeals, with matters heard before the Immigration Appeal Division and Federal Court.

The firm also takes on public interest litigation, including constitutional claims against government bodies and cases involving police accountability. Before practicing law, Bajwa worked with non-profit organizations focused on social justice, and the firm describes an interest in cases touching the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Bajwa belongs to the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society, the Junior Immigration and Refugee Lawyers Network, and the Canadian Bar Association, and volunteers with local food banks and other non-profits outside of the office.
