About WorkLawyer

WorkLawyer.ca is the professional site of Jeffrey R. Robles, an Ajax lawyer whose practice covers employment law, disability insurance disputes, personal injury and civil litigation. Robles is a Law Society of Ontario Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation and, on that basis, handles matters at all levels of court in Ontario as well as before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Ontario Ministry of Labour. An archived version of the site from April 2025 described Robles as a partner with Reilly & Partners Professional Corporation, working from an office on Kingston Road West in Ajax.

Robles graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000, articled at a corporate and commercial litigation firm in Toronto, and, following a call to the Bar of Ontario in 2002, joined Reilly & Partners as an associate before becoming a partner in 2008. Robles's reported cases include Crosbie v. Crosbie at the Ontario Court of Appeal. Robles has also produced The WorkLawyer.ca Podcast, a series of short episodes on employment law topics such as constructive dismissal, limitation periods and mitigation.

The neighbourhood

The office on Kingston Road West sits in Pickering Village, the older settlement that grew up where Duffins Creek meets the historic Kingston Road, laid out in 1799. Pickering Village kept its own municipal status until it amalgamated with the Town of Ajax in 1974. That gives the practice a base away from a courthouse or office tower, suited to a firm whose clients come from across Durham Region and into Scarborough and Markham rather than a single downtown core.
