About Mahzulfah

Mahzulfah S. Uppal has practised family law exclusively since being called to the Ontario Bar in 1997, giving her roughly 26 years of experience in the field. She works to resolve family breakdown matters through alternative dispute resolution where possible, while also litigating cases in court when mediation is not viable, and has appeared for many years at the Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice across the Greater Toronto Area, in addition to arguing at the Ontario Court of Appeal. Uppal has been active with the Peel Law Association, including nine years of service from 2008 to 2017 that involved two terms as President and one as past President, and she currently sits on its finance committee; she has also served as a board member for the Elizabeth Fry Society's Halton Peel chapter and for the Peel Legal Aid Clinic. She has presented on topics such as family law, child support, and pensions to colleagues via the Peel Law Association, and considers teaching and presenting to be professional passions.
