About James
James D. Lockyer has practiced law for more than 30 years, working with individuals, families, and business owners on real estate, wills, trusts, estate planning, and estate administration matters. He has also advised corporate clients on leases, commercial refinancing, reorganizations, negotiated buyouts, and business succession planning. He began his career as counsel for CIBC's Information Technology Group before entering private practice in Brampton and Caledon, where he represented clients in civil matters up to the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He is a graduate of McMaster University and Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and has taught Business Law as an instructor at Sheridan College's Faculty of Continuing Education. He has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel and local minor hockey associations, served on the boards of the Brampton Curling Club and Hospice Caledon, and has been a volunteer firefighter with Caledon Fire and Emergency Services since 2015.
